"The 2007 certainly looks to be a beauty. Deep plum/ruby to the edge, with a sweet kirsch liqueur-scented nose intermixed with some sandy, loamy soil notes and a bit of pepper and spice, this wine has impeccable purity, texture, and depth in a full-bodied, rather traditionally made style. It should drink nicely for 10-15 years. This is an under-the-radar estate run by the Laget-Royer family. I still have magnums of the 1989 in my cellar that are aging beautifully, so they are certainly capable of hitting some very high points in Chateauneuf du Pape."

I’m definitely on for 1. Man, I wish I had a bigger wine fridge for all of the CNdP I’ve been buying!
It’s pretty quiet today – I guess everyone is waiting for tonight’s Cinderella offer…
Killing time before the 9pm unveiling of the CW wine… lol.
I liked this Domaine Pontifical quite a bit, but those expecting a thick and muscular CdP should look elsewhere. It’s mostly a Grenache-driven wine and, while very good, did not please at least one person I know who prefers Cab Sauv and the like.
