"Delicious for the price. The classic sweet strawberry, cherry, blueberry and cranberry notes with fresh acidity and gentle tannins. This is head and shoulders above the 'name brand' wines, and has all the character one hopes for in lower tier Beaujolais."

  • Get ready early for Thanksgiving with this Beaujolais! The Domaine des Nugues brings real quality to the table, with great red fruit and soft tannins. Drink by itself, with a traditional Thanksgiving meal, or with cheeses, aperitifs, or fish.

  • Not to be confused with Beaujolais Nouveau, Beaujolais Villages comes from the northern area of the appellation and generally have more depth than the Nouveau. These wines are made from the grape, Gamay, which gives Beaujolais its characteristic fruitiness.

All right, I bit again. I have always liked the Gamay varietal. It’s where I started. My favorite two villages from Beaujolais in the past have been Moulin A Vent and Fleurie. If you have not tried this varietal and like Pinot Noir, give this a shot. It’s similar in some ways. Light and fruity. For 12 bones it’s worth a shot in my book.
